Flower Bouquets

NOTE: Do not place flowers on important furniture or polished surfaces unless they are in a Vase or Container – because they may cause scratching, staining or water may leak out.

NOTE: Most Isan Flower 2 Bouquet arrangements include a plastic bag of wet cotton wool on the bottom of the stems, to keep the flowers in water for 1-2 days & help them stay as fresh as possible.

As Soon As Possible after receiving the flowers …
  • Find a Vase (or other Container) & make sure it is clean inside (no damaging bacteria).
  • Fill the Vase 50-70% full of fresh, clean, cool water (but not chilled water from a fridge) to the Vase or Container.
  • Carefully remove the flowers from the Bouquet wrapping/packaging.
  • Place the flowers into the Vase, removing any leaves that are below water level (because they will decompose & contaminate the water).
  • Position your Vase of flowers on a protective mat in a cool, draught-free place. NOT in direct sunlight. NOT near fruit (their gas kills flowers).
    • NOTE: See Vase Care in the section below

      • to stop bacteria growing in the water … you can use crushed Aspirin, or a little bleach.
    • Put the new flower “food” mix above into the Vase.
    • Remove any almost dead/dead flowers & try to revive them
    • Cut about 3-4cm off the bottom of each flower stem (this will help them drink water better for the next 24-48 hours).
      • Use a sharp, clean knife and cut at a 45 degree angle (see example picture), underwater if possible.

NOTE: If you wait too long, the water in the Vase will become cloudy instead of being clear. That is a sign of damaging bacteria in the water, which will kill your flowers.
