Flower Care

How to keep you Isan Flowers 2 flowers beautiful for as long as possible …

(Basically, make sure the flowers ALWAYS have enough CLEAN water (no bacteria) and keep them as COOL as possible. Flowers are made of 90% water. This is what keeps them fresh and firm).

Roses & Flower Bouquet

NOTE: Do not place flowers on furniture or polished surfaces unless they are in a Vase or container – because they may cause scratching or staining.

As Soon As Possible …
  • Find a Vase (or other container) & make sure it is clean inside (no damaging bacteria).
  • Fill the Vase 50-70% full of fresh, clean, cool water (but not chilled water from a fridge) to the Vase or container.
  • Carefully remove the flowers from the Bouquet wrapping/packaging from the flowers.
  • Place the flowers into the Vase, removing any leaves that are below water level (because they will decompose & contaminate the water).
  • Position your Vase of flowers on a protective mat in a cool, draught-free place. NOT in direct sunlight. NOT near fruit (their gas kills flowers).

Flower Vase

Every Day …
  • Remove any almost dead/dead flowers & try to revive them (see YouTube video playlist link at bottom of this page).
  • Spray the flowers with water, if possible (can use a spray bottle like for spraying clothes when ironing).
Every 2 Days …
  • Refresh” the whole Vase
    • Empty all the water from the Vase
    • Clean the inside of the vase (to remove any bacteria).
    • Mix fresh, clean, cool water (but not chilled water from a fridge) with things that will feed the flowers & kill bacteria in the water …
      • as flower food you can use … a small amount of Sugar (1-2 teaspoons/cubes) or some M-150 Energy Drink
      • to stop bacteria growing in the water … you can use crushed Aspirin, or a little bleach.
    • Put the new flower “food” mix above into the Vase.
    • Cut about 3-4cm off the bottom of each flower stem (this will help them drink water better for the next 24-48 hours).
      • Use a sharp, clean knife and cut at a 45 degree angle (see example picture), underwater if possible.

NOTE: If you wait too long, and the water becomes cloudy instead of being clear, it is a sign of damaging bacteria in the water, which will kill your flowers.

Flower Basket

NOTE: All our Isan Flower 2 Basket arrangements include a wet oasis (green florist foam) to keep the flowers in their position, and hold water for them to drink.

As Soon As Possible …
  • Position your Basket of flowers on a protective mat in a cool, draught-free place. NOT in direct sunlight. NOT near fruit (their gas kills flowers).
Every Day …

  • Add more fresh, clean, cool water to the oasis inside the Basket. Also spray the flowers with water, if possible (can use a spray bottle like for spraying clothes while ironing).
Every 2 Days …
  • Mix fresh, clean, cool water (but not chilled water from a fridge) with things that will feed the flowers & kill bacteria in the water
    • as flower food you can use … a small amount of Sugar (1-2 teaspoons/cubes) or some M-150 Energy Drink
    • to stop bacteria growing in the water … you can use crushed Aspirin, or a little bleach.
